Biography
Ángel Montero is Organ Professor at Madrid Conservatory as well as Main Organist at the Segovia Cathedral. Since 2006 he is invited to play concerts in many places of Spain, as well as in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France and Morocco. In 2017 he was awarded with the 1st prize at the Spanish Organ Competition “Iohannes Baptista Cabanilles” in Algemesí (Valencia). In 2010 he received the prize “Andres Segovia-José Miguel Ruiz Morales” during the Música en Compostela International Courses. In July 2018 he was appointed organ professor, after winning a public selection process in Madrid.
In 2016 he was awarded with the highest grades in his Organ Bachelor studies, done in Madrid (Centro Superior Katarina Gurska) with the Prof. Roberto Fresco. From 2016 to 2018 he studied a Master of Music Performance with Prof. Bernhard Haas at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München (Germany). He has attended to many Organ Courses and Masterclasses around Europe.
Since 2016 he is artistic director of the ‘Correa de Arauxo’ Association in Segovia, where he organized Organ Festivals and Courses around the historical organs from the city.
